Terms & Usage (License)
How you can use Vignette scenes, mockups, and exports in your own work.
Effective date: [Set Date] · This page works together with the main Terms of Use.
1. Scope
These Terms & Usage (the "License") explain how you may use visual assets generated or provided through Vignette, including scenes, mockups, background imagery, and exported files (collectively, the "Vignette Assets"). The Vignette service is operated by Big Picture Creative, a sole proprietorship owned by Stephanie Bignell in Ontario, Canada. This License sits alongside our Terms of Use. If there is any inconsistency about asset usage, this License controls.
2. What you are allowed to do
You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use exports from Vignette as part of your own work. You may:
- Use exported mockups in client projects, portfolios, marketing materials, social media, presentations, and internal documents.
- Use exports for both personal and commercial projects, subject to these Terms.
- Apply your own branding, logos, and designs within Vignette’s scenes to produce final composite images.
You own your underlying design content. Vignette does not claim ownership of the logos, artwork, or designs you upload.
3. What you are not allowed to do
You may not:
- Download, export, or otherwise obtain blank scenes (with no user design applied) from Vignette.
- Resell, redistribute, or give away Vignette scenes or mockups as stock images, templates, or design resources.
- Use Vignette scenes to create competing mockup generators, template packs, stock bundles, or similar tools.
- Remove or obscure any embedded watermarking, technical protection, or attribution if ever applied.
- Use Vignette Assets in any way that violates applicable law, third-party rights, or our Terms of Use.
In plain language: exports are for showcasing your own work in a Vignette scene. They are not a source of standalone, reusable mockup files to resell or redistribute.
4. No blank-scene downloads
To protect both Vignette’s proprietary scenes and third-party content, the Service is designed so that you can only export composite images where your design is part of the final result.
That means:
- Your uploaded design (logo, artwork, screenshot, etc.) must be present and visible in the export.
- Exports are flattened images; layered scene files are not provided.
- Blank or near-blank scene downloads are intentionally disabled.
If you attempt to export without a valid design present, you may see a warning such as: “Add your design to continue. Blank scene downloads are not available.”
5. Third-party content (including Pexels)
Some scenes or background imagery in Vignette may incorporate content from third-party providers (for example, Pexels or similar services), used under their respective licenses. Those licenses typically require that assets are not redistributed as standalone stock files.
By using Vignette, you agree not to extract or redistribute any third-party content from the Service as standalone assets. Your license is for the final composite exports you create, not for underlying provider imagery.
6. Ownership
Vignette and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the scenes, mockups, interface design, and any underlying assets provided through the Service. This License grants you limited usage rights as described above; it does not transfer ownership.
You remain responsible for ensuring you have appropriate rights to any User Content you upload (such as client logos or brand assets) and for how you use your final exports.
7. Prohibited uses & enforcement
We may limit, suspend, or terminate access to the Service if we believe that Vignette Assets are being:
- Resold or redistributed as mockup files, templates, or stock imagery.
- Used to train or improve other mockup tools, AI models, or competing products.
- Used in ways that violate these Terms & Usage, our Terms of Use, or applicable law.
8. Changes to this License
We may update this Terms & Usage page from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, licensing relationships, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Vignette after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated License.
